With reference to paragraph 3 of my Despatch No. 270 of the 23rd. July, I have the honour to report that Mr. Gutierrez continued to act as Superintendent of Mails in addition to performing the duties of his own post from the 13th. February, 1914, until Mr. Hynes who was appointed to succeed Mir. Savage returned from leave on the 15th. Decanber, and to request authority to grant him a bonus of $480 in respect of his services during this further period.
